A former magazine editor who became an ITV and BBC Radio Four broadcaster, Richard is currently a Consultant and Cataloguer for a leading auction house and brings to CCFS clients a lifetime of hands-on experience both in the motor industry and the collector car field. Unlike so much of the media who rarely leave their terminals these days, he personally checks out lots that cross the auction block and assesses the condition of those that sell to provide CCFS clients with an insider's insight into why a particular car fetches the price it does.

Always a motor sports enthusiast, RHE has competed on both modern and historic events, competing in a works Ford Escort on the London to Mexico Rally. Latterly, he has won championships and awards at the wheel of a 1953 Aston Martin DB2/4, a works-specification 1959 Austin-Healey 3000, a 1965 Porsche 911 and a 1985 MG Metro 6R4. He won the HRCR's 2000 Night Rally series in his Ford Escort RS2000 and currently has a Van Diemen RF85 Formula Ford, Caterham Seven Super Sprint and Westfield Megablade in his stable.
