Built on the Silver Shadow floorpan and running gear, the intregal construction two-door Camargue was powered by an uprated version of the all-aluminium 6.75-litre pushrod V8 engine, very much in the spirit of the company's pre-war sports saloons. The Camargue was the first new Rolls-Royce model to have air-conditioning as standard, using the company's own split level automatic system, which, uniquely, gave the driver control over the temperatures at both upper and lower levels. One of the rarest and most exclusive of the post war Rolls-Royces, the Camargue has a loyal following and many consider that its' more sporting image is more befitting of the Bentley badge. .
