Richard Hudson-Evans says, A down to last-nut-and-bolt restored and super-mint 1974 Jaguar E Type Series 3 V12 Roadster fetched £68,750 during the latest Barons sale at Sandown Park, reports Richard Hudson-Evans. Another E Type, a restored Series 1 4.2 Roadster, made £31,900 during the Jaguar-themed sale at the Surrey racecourse venue.
Other Jaguar prices recorded during the Tuesday afternoon auction included an extensively rebuilt 1962 Mk2 3.4 Saloon with upgrades sold for £20,900, an only two families owned since 1970 E Type Series 2 Coupe £16,225, a 1960 MkIX with VSE uprated 3.8 motor £14,080, a 1970 E Type Series 2+2 Fixed Head with modern J-gate auto £13,200, a bodily restored 1961 Mk1 3.8 Saloon manual with overdrive £10,560, a low mileage 1989 XJS V12 Convertible £10,047 and an Avon Estate-bodied 1981 XJ12 HE Series 3 £9460.
The non-Jaguar section pries were headed by a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL with hardtop, which found £13,200, while a 1982 Triumph TR7 Convertible with Oselli V8 conversion and customised interior in leather sold for £5060.
