Vintage, Classic & Collectors Auction - BCA Auction House

Richard Hudson-Evans says, Although a 1968 Aston Martin DB6 auto that had only covered 400 miles since 1989 and was ripe was a full makeover failed to generate the £48,000 or so required, reports Richard Hudson-Evans, a 27,500 miles since 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS in excellent cosmetic order was acquired here for £18,425 and £11,880 bought a circa 62,000 miles 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabrio. With traders having to divide their viewing and bidding time between Blackbushe and Sandown Park, where close rivals Barons achieved a similar sale total during the same afternoon, happily for both auction houses and the market there were enough buyers to go round.
A 1932 Wolseley Hornet Special sold for an above estimate £12,210 to achieve the highest price for a pre-war car here. Proving equally resilient to credit crunching are most pre-B MGs with a 1959 MGA 1500 Roadster raising £9350, an MGA 1600 Coupe of the same year £6490 and a 37,000 miles since 1966 M Midget MkII an above forecast £4620.
Still extraordinarily original, and much viewed, were an only 16,749 miles since 1982 380SL, a 9490 miler 1990 BMW 316A and a VW 1303S Beetle, resident with two owners in the same road since 1973, which found £12,980, £3080 and £2695 respectively. The most vehicle for the money was provided by an ex-Cornwall Fire Brigade 1955 Dennis F8 Water Tender with bells and whistles landed for £6050.
