1966 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada

Bizzarrini is one of the important names in sixties motorsport. A genius trapped in his own project, a rebel that never bent to other peoples logic or industrial plans. Giotto Bizzarrini, or simply lIngegnere was working at Ferrari by the end of the fifties, hand picked by Enzo himself fresh out of college.
Extremely gifted at the drawing board as much as on a race track, he immediately managed to fill the gap between engineers and racing drivers and becoming the leading engineer on the all too famous GTO program.
Leaving Maranello for diplomatic reasons he would be headhunted by Ferruccio Lamborghini himself to design the legendary heart of his cars. The resulting V12 would have to be initially detuned but it would power SantAgatas bulls all the way up to the Murcielago. He would then be responsible for the Breadvan and Carlo Chitis revolutionarys ATS program before landing a job at Iso, back in his own Tuscany, before leaving to finally put his own name on his own creation.
The Bizzarrini myth finally had a logo and the 5300 GT Strada was the first and arguably the most famous of his creations.

Powered by the powerful and reliable Chevy V8, penned with the help of Bertone the car would be by many considered the GTO nemesis on the racetrack. The engine is so far back that a panel on the dashboard would be necessary to access part of the mechanics, inboard brakes and state of the art suspensions gave it an incredible edge on any competitor in terms of agility and dexterity.

We offer this very early series 1 example, complete with riveted aluminium body, early dashboard, ISO A3/L instruments and early glass, plus numerous additional interesting details specific to this early short production model.
